County staff asked the Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday whether they wished to proceed with selecting candidates for a regional library position after conducting interviews.
The clerk reported that interviews had been completed for all but one candidate who did not respond; the clerk recommended the board begin ranking candidates by listing their top two to three choices and looking for consensus. The clerk noted past practice of using a whiteboard to track preferences and then narrowing the list.
Commissioners discussed whether to proceed immediately; the chair recessed the open meeting to allow commissioners to gather notes and return. When the meeting resumed the clerk announced the public portion of morning business had concluded and that commissioners would continue discussing applicants in an open but not live-streamed session.
No appointment or final selection was recorded in the public transcript; staff said they would circulate the candidate list and application materials to commissioners and add the selection item to a future meeting if the board preferred more time to review.
