Engage Miami urges county to adopt interactive multilingual budget tool

Morales said the tool would visualize departmental allocations, centralize budget information, reduce duplicative printed materials and enable real‑time budget adjustments. “No one should have to read more than, you know, 200 pages to understand how public dollars are spent,” Morales said.
She pointed to similar tools used by Pinellas and Flagler counties and municipalities like North Miami as examples and asked to meet with commissioners to advance the initiative. Morales asked the committee to support resolution items related to a budget tool; the committee did not vote on the public comment but closed the public comment period after the presentation.
The comment is entered into the public record for committee consideration and any subsequent rulemaking or resolution action.
