The Douglas County Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously May 15 to appoint Wendy Sharp as the county's Public Administrator to perform duties under Douglas County Code chapter 2.23 and "NRS 2 53" as referenced in the packet.
Brooke Adey, community services director, told the board that the department ran a competitive recruitment and selected Sharp based on her skills and experience. "We had some really great candidates, and we have selected Wendy for your consideration based on her skills, and abilities," Adey said.
Sharp addressed the board at the meeting and said she was "gracious to accept this position and serve Douglas County as your public administrator," adding that she would work to provide dignity to residents who have died without local arrangements.
Commissioner John Tolbert moved to appoint Sharp; Commissioner Jeanne Gardner seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
