The Bennington Public Schools Board approved curriculum and instructional resources for 6'12 skilled and technical sciences on May 12.
District staff described the adoptions as classroom- and equipment-aware resources tailored to career and technical courses (drafting, construction trades, health sciences preparations and related offerings). The committee recommended textbook and digital resources to provide teachers with lesson supports, projects and digital activities; the high school materials include classroom sets and annual digital updates where applicable.
Staff emphasized this adoption aims to support current offerings while also informing planning for programs in the district's second high school. The board was told the total cost presented for the skilled and technical sciences materials was $41,713; district staff said the materials will be purchased from the depreciation fund and that ongoing software/manual updates are expected to be an operational expense in later years.
The board approved the purchase by unanimous roll call and directed staff to proceed with implementation, including training and syllabus/course-guide work already completed by teachers.
