The Guthrie Public Schools Board of Education approved contingency modification No. 9 for Crossland Construction by a 6-0 roll call at its April 14 meeting, adding $56,191.95 to the district's construction contract.
District staff told the board the modification covers two months of previously unbilled items, the largest being a playground fence and drainage work to address an elevation change between Nineteenth Street and the school site. Staff said the change is intended to ensure proper drainage in the event of significant flooding.
Presenters said the additional $56,191.95 keeps the project well below the contingency cap; staff noted there remained roughly $480,000 of contingency funds available. Lane, identified in discussion as a Crossland representative, was not present for the meeting.
Board members voted by roll call; the clerk announced six ayes and zero nays. The board's approval will allow Crossland Construction to proceed with the specified adjustments as the project nears completion.
