County approves Allcom contract to replace cameras and access control at Human Services building

The Franklin County Board of Commissioners approved an agreement with Allcom to replace cameras and access-control systems at the Human Services building during its May 1 meeting.
"This agreement is basically, to swap out the cameras that we currently have at the Human Building along with the access control. The system that is currently out there is outdated and it just needs a face lift," Risk Management Director Alexis Penings said.
Penings described the purchase as phase 2 of a multi-stage upgrade; upgrades to cameras in the waiting area were completed last year. When a commissioner noted the Human Services building is roughly 40 years old and asked whether the cameras could be moved to a different site, Penings responded, "Yes. They can be relocated, to a newer facility if we need to." The board approved the agreement by voice vote.
