Davis County Commission approves contracts, internship host site and technology amendment; multiple routine items passed

The Davis County Commission on Tuesday approved multiple contracts and routine consent items including a receivable for a regional basketball tournament, a one-year host-site agreement with Utah State University, an amendment to a telecommunications contract for the county Emergency Operations Center, a competency-restoration contract with the Utah State Hospital via the Department of Health and Human Services, and a law-enforcement training reimbursement agreement.

Primetime Sports / Big Foot Hoops tournament: The commission approved an agreement with Primetime Sports and Big Foot Hoops to host a larger regional basketball tournament at Western Sports Park. Information systems amendment for EOC connectivity: The commission approved an amendment to contract 20250367 with Syringa Networks to add telephone and network connectivity to the county Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Information Systems Director Jeff Hassett said one-time funding will pay for November and December of the current year, and the service will move to the county’s operational telecommunications budget in 2026.

Sheriff’s office agreements: The commission approved two sheriff’s-office items presented together. One is an agreement with the Department of Health and Human Services and the Utah State Hospital to establish a competency-restoration program.
