The Jackson County Board approved three appointments to the county Land Bank: David Hamentry as the nonprofit representative, Mary Walcott as the public member, and Commissioner Corey Kennedy in the seat for which he was the applicant.
David Hamentry, who introduced himself earlier in the meeting and noted his roles on the city planning commission and Grove Jackson board, was nominated and confirmed as the Land Bank nonprofit representative. Commissioner Walls moved Hamentry’s nomination; commissioners voted in favor.
Mary Walcott was nominated and confirmed to continue as the public member, and commissioners also moved to support Corey Kennedy for his seat; those nominations carried. Committee discussion noted that Hamentry’s application arrived late but met the criteria for the nonprofit seat.
The approvals were made during the General Government standing committee portion of the meeting and carried to the full board through the committee process. County staff and commissioners said they would record the appointments in the minutes and notify the Land Bank.
No funding or ordinance change accompanied the appointments; they fill existing vacancies on the Land Bank board.
