Sheriff Roland told the Maury County Commission that the department—s per‑diem payment for housing state inmates increased to $42 per day for tier‑1 accredited facilities, up from earlier rates. He said the county—s facility is built for a capacity around 386 beds and that on any given day the population "can fluctuate tremendously."
