County health system reported an improving census at the Regional Medical Center after acquisition, activation of two additional operating rooms, outpatient specialty expansions and an expected California Department of Public Health change‑of‑ownership review in mid‑June.

Santa Clara County health system staff reported that the recently acquired Regional Medical Center has seen inpatient volumes rise steadily since takeover. April's average daily census was reported at 38; May to date was 53 and some days reached a census of 68. Health system leaders said they now expect to reach the previously budgeted year‑end target earlier than planned.
