Granite School District planning staff told the Salt Lake County Council that district‑wide enrollment has fallen from about 68,000 to roughly 55,000 over the last 20 years and that forecasts project enrollment will drop by about 1,000 to 1,200 students per year, to approximately 47,000 students in five years.
