Board approves multiple consent items, appropriations and amendments on unanimous votes
Summary
The Board of Supervisors adopted a slate of routine consent items and passed several ordinances and resolutions on Feb. 10, including planning-code reorganizations, appropriations for Lake Merced cleanup, behavioral-health contracts, lease extensions, grants, and multiple first-reading ordinances; votes were unanimous where recorded.
The Board of Supervisors on Feb. 10 approved a series of consent and ordinance items by roll call or unanimous consent. Several items were taken as routine and adopted together; others were announced individually as passed.
Items adopted included:
- Consent calendar items 2 through 6: adopted (routine consent, roll calls recorded). - Item 7: Resolution supporting AB 96 (ivory and rhinoceros horn ban) was discussed separately and adopted by unanimous consent (see separate article). - Item 8: Ordinance to amend the Planning Code to consolidate definitions and reorganize Article 2; finally passed unanimously. - Item 9: Ordinance appropriating approximately $9.5 million from the Water Enterprise Fund for contaminated-soil cleanup at Lake Merced (FY2014-15); passed on first reading unanimously. - Item 10: Resolution authorizing retroactive multi-year contract for substance use disorder services with the State Department of Health Care Services (term 07/01/2014 through 06/30/2017); adopted unanimously. - Item 11: Resolution authorizing second amendment to a lease at 711 Van Ness Avenue (extend through Jan. 2018); adopted unanimously. - Item 12: Resolution to accept and expend a $150,000 grant from Pacific Gas and Electric Company for the City Hall preservation fund; adopted unanimously. - Item 13: Resolution to retroactively accept and expend approximately $112,000 from UC Regents for HIV transmission cluster analysis (07/01/2014 through 06/30/2015); adopted unanimously. - Item 14: Ordinance amending the Planning Code to require conditional use authorization for conversion of landmark PDR buildings to office use in certain districts; passed on first reading unanimously (see separate article). - Items 17 through 22: Adopted for immediate adoption without committee reference by roll call vote (11 ayes recorded on the roll call recorded at the end of the meeting).
The clerk recorded roll calls as noted in the meeting transcript; several items were passed "without objection" or unanimously on the first reading. Items requiring further readings or additional steps (such as the planning-code ordinances) will return to the Board for required subsequent votes.
