Commission allocates funds for shovel-ready road design work on two county projects

Commissioners voted to authorize the design work and to reallocate available funds (references made to the “prairie dog” and asphalt funds in the discussion) so the county will have projects ready to submit should funding be announced. Staff said having shovel-ready plans historically improves chances of securing outside funding.
No final construction contract was awarded; the approvals were to pay for engineering and design work only.
