Ocala code enforcement board approves liens, tree-permit orders and multiple compliance cases

The City of Ocala’s Municipal Code Enforcement Board on March 24 took multiple routine enforcement actions including approving a lien filing for an unpaid contractor fine, approving staff recommendations for tree-removal and site-maintenance cases, and accepting a consent agenda of repeat nuisance cases.
John Cuda Electrical Services LLC: Under old business the Contractors Board asked the Municipal Code Enforcement Board to file a lien against all real and personal property owned by John Cuda Electrical Services LLC for an outstanding balance of $1,202.61 from a prior unlicensed-contractor prosecution (case CON25-0001). Board member Eddie Ferrentino moved to accept staff recommendations to file the lien; the motion was seconded and carried.
CJ Commercial Properties LLC: Officer Ocis Herrera presented case 202411503 regarding conformance with an approved plan and maintenance at 60 SW 17th Street. Staff reported a recent permit application and limited site activity; staff recommended compliance orders. Board member Daryl O'Kane moved to accept staff recommendations; the motion was seconded by Shirley Wright and carried.
D and L Real Estate Investments LLC: In case 202411556 staff reported tree removal work had occurred without the required tree removal permit at 432 NW Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. Staff said some violations had been cured but the tree-permit requirement remained. Staff recommended a one-time irreversible-violation fine of $50 per tree (eight trees, $400) plus $265.11 in prosecution costs and a compliance schedule tied to permit issuance. Board member Eddie Ferrantino moved to accept staff recommendations; Ms. Wright seconded and the motion carried.
Repeat nuisance and other cases: The board accepted staff recommendations and previous orders for multiple cases on a consent agenda (case numbers read into the record), including several repeat violators for weeds, trash and site neglect. The board also accepted staff’s request to include evidence and testimony in the record.
All motions on these items passed by voice vote with no recorded dissents in the meeting transcript.
