Bexar County approved an amendment on April 8 to extend staff augmentation with the Ancovia Group to support ongoing post‑implementation work for the county’s CJIS/enterprise justice systems, including the Tyler Odyssey environment. Facilities and IT staff told the court the five‑year Odyssey implementation left a ‘parking lot’ of items that require focused analyst and testing support post‑go‑live.
Mark Gager and Dan Curry explained Ancovia brings continuity from the implementation project and employees with Tyler experience to assist county staff with tickets (about 300 per month), upgrade testing and continuous‑improvement work. The amendment covers approximately 8,700 blended hours at cooperative rates and is intended to get the county through a planned major upgrade that will unlock additional functionality and address some items deferred at go‑live.
The court approved the amendment and was told the county intends to reduce reliance on outside consultants over time, but still expects limited outside support for specialized tasks. Commissioners asked that staff return with plans showing how augmentation will taper as in‑house capacity increases and to seek competitive options if future amendment needs arise.
