EMA and dispatch work plan: ProQA implementation approved; tornado-siren review and warming-center logistics advanced

Dispatch and EMA staff presented a $6,136.50 quote from the vendor for ProQA (police interface and one year of interface maintenance) to integrate with the county’s Spillman/FlexCAD system for police dispatch. Commissioners approved the purchase and authorized the rollout; staff said police kickoff sessions to tailor protocols to local needs are scheduled for the coming week.
EMA staff and volunteers updated the board on tornado-siren testing and a newly formed committee to inventory and evaluate siren coverage. Staff reported mixed results in recent tests (some sirens tested successfully; others need repair or further confirmation). Commissioners were told of plans to post volunteers at siren sites during monthly tests and to examine new siren placement to increase coverage in areas with factories and the Legacy Christian Academy area.
Separately, county volunteers and Fulton County Hope staff gave an update on the warming center operations that ran this winter. Staff noted patterns in usage, volunteer staffing challenges and asked the commissioners to coordinate storage of supplies purchased with Health First Indiana funding; commissioners asked staff to work with the health department to determine appropriate storage and ownership of supplies when the warming-center season ends.
