The Senate Committee on Growth and Infrastructure heard hours of testimony March 26 on Senate Bill 395, which would require trained human operators with a commercial driver's license to be present in certain autonomous vehicles: those with a gross vehicle weight rating above 26,000 pounds or vehicles with more than two axles capable of carrying eight or more passengers.
