Budget committee approves two School Federal Projects Fund code adjustments

The White County Budget Committee on April 14 approved two technical budget amendments moving existing federal school project dollars between accounting codes.
The committee’s finance director presented the items as code adjustments within the School Federal Projects Fund. The first amendment reclassifies the out-of-school-time career pathways grant from account code 47,003.10 to 47,139 per Tennessee Department of Education guidance. The second moves $9,000 within an IDEA Part B subfund from non-certified substitute teachers to certified substitute teachers, keeping the same program purpose but changing the accounting line.
The finance director said both changes had already been before the school board for approval. Committee members moved and seconded approval and voted by voice; the chair announced the amendments were approved after no opposition was voiced.
The committee then moved on to department presentations for the fiscal 2026 budget.
