Bob Hope Elementary renovation about 58% complete, board told

Contractors and district staff updated the Southwest ISD Board on renovation and addition work at Bob Hope Elementary, reporting the project is just over halfway complete and remains on budget.
James Moore (OCR) and Paul Lawson (Kincon) reported that construction began about five to six months ago and that the project is “just over halfway” complete. They said Area E renovation has been occupied and is approximately 60–65% complete, while other work — including the library addition and renovation, bathroom tile installation and above‑ceiling HVAC work — is moving toward final finishes.
Presenters showed construction photos and described remaining work: window installations, flooring, toilet partitions and final accessories had been received and were awaiting installation. Classrooms have had ceilings and above‑ceiling HVAC components installed and are awaiting finishes. The district added portable buildings temporarily to facilitate student movement during construction.
Project pay applications show the work is at 58% by pay application; staff reiterated the project remains on budget. There were no budget increase requests at the meeting; trustees thanked the project team for the update and progress report.
