Committee advances substitute to keep nonparticipating ELL students from inflating athletic classifications
The Education Policy Committee adopted a substitute to HB 298 that would direct the State Department of Education to adjust athletic classification counts when at least 15% of students in grades 9–11 are English learners and those EL students are not participating in athletics. The committee gave the substitute a favorable report.
