Commissioners approve professional engineering contracts for mobility bond projects

- Schomburg & Polk Inc. — Pitts Road Mobility Bond Project (Precinct 4): contract not to exceed $1,249,980.98. - Civil Corp LLC — Double Covert Road/Cedar Creek Mobility Bond Project (Precinct 1): contract not to exceed $1,004,733.92. - Gannett Fleming Inc. — Owens Road Mobility Bond Project (Precinct 3): contract not to exceed $804,563. - BGE Inc. — Interchanges Mobility Bond Project (Precinct 2): contract not to exceed $426,036.50. - Binkley & Barfield Inc. — Clay Road Mobility Bond Project (Precinct 4): contract not to exceed $2,245,846. - BGE Inc. — Joseph Road Mobility Bond Project (Precinct 2): contract not to exceed $1,198,870. - Binkley & Barfield Inc. — Penick Mathis Mobility Bond Project (Precinct 3): contract not to exceed $1,532,634.
County staff said LJA’s earlier work refined the level of effort, produced clearer scopes and assisted in negotiations with the firms for hours and deliverables. The court also approved payment of $98,655.74 to LJA Engineering for professional services rendered in January, with funding drawn from the mobility bond professional services line.
Commissioners discussed project limits, site access and coordination with developers during the consent of the contracts. The court approved each contract by voice vote with no roll‑call tally recorded in the public minutes. Staff said the contracts will be monitored for scope and budget as each project advances toward design and construction.
