Amherst County Board approves 20-year solid waste management plan update

Tyler Creasy, a county staff member who presented the item, told the board the update had been introduced at the Feb. 18 meeting and that staff sought board input and approval. Creasy said the plan is a required 20-year update and asked whether the board had any questions.
There was no substantive discussion from board members. Supervisor Martin moved to approve the 20-year update to the solid waste management plan as presented on Feb. 10, 2025; the chair put the question and members voiced their assent. The motion passed by voice vote.
The approval completes the department's update requirement and allows staff to proceed under the new plan. The board did not record a roll-call tally in the meeting transcript.
