Planning commission approves four zoning items on consent

The Marion County Planning and Zoning Commission approved four zoning items on the consent agenda during its meeting May 16, adopting the staff recommendations and moving the items forward without individual consideration.

The consent items were read into the record by Chuck Veron, director of Growth Services, and covered: case 250601ZC (Patricia D. Walter) — a zoning change from General Agriculture A-1, Community Business B-2 and Heavy Business B-5 to Rural Activity Center (RAC) for 16.36 acres (parcel 3171700001); case 250602ZC (Javier Rodriguez and Zelinka Arasimendi) — B-2 to Rural Residential R-1 on 1.3 acres at 8748 and 8750 NE Jacksonville Road; case 250603ZC (George and Lisa Scott) — A-1 to Single-Family Dwelling R-1 on 1 acre at 6270 SE 80th Street; and case 250604ZC (Bellevue Properties Holdings LLC) — A-1 to Community Business B-2 on 1.59 acres with addresses along South US Highway 301.

No members of the public objected when the items were called. A commissioner moved approval of the entire consent agenda; a second was recorded and the commission voted in favor. The commission noted that separate, larger items later on the agenda had attracted public attendance and reminded people that several Golden Ocala items had been postponed to the June 30 meeting due to advertising issues.

The items will proceed to the next step in the land development process consistent with the county’s procedures for consent items.
