No members of the public spoke during the hearing, which the board opened and then closed after hearing no comments.
The published notice described the bill as an act to “repeal and reenact with amendments” subsections c and e of section 175-163 in the county zoning code; subsection c would remove term limits and subsection e would align removal procedures with state code. The notice also designated the measure as an emergency bill.
After opening the public hearing the board recorded no public testimony, closed the hearing and returned to other business. Commissioners did not take final action on the bill during the session; the record shows the hearing was held and will be part of the formal legislative process for the bill.
Copies of the published notice and the ordinance text were available in the clerk’s office and on the county website, the county attorney said.
