The Tuttle City Council voted unanimously on a series of routine and action items during its meeting, approving the consent docket and a number of separate purchases, contracts and appointments.
The council approved the consent docket and then separately approved purchases and agreements brought forward during department reports and committee items. Notable approvals included the appointment of Chuck Berryhill to Position 2 on the Planning Commission (term ending 06/30/2026); the purchase of a columbarium from Central Burial Vaults for Fairview Cemetery in an amount not to exceed $50,000 and a related budget amendment moving $50,000 from the cemetery fund balance into cemetery capital outlay; a grant-writing agreement between the GMC Utility Trust Authority and Choosing Charity LLC; and multiple equipment purchases for public works and public safety.
The council also approved the purchase of a 2025 Chevrolet 3500 dump bed truck for $64,009; five Skag zero-turn mowers from Country Equipment for $75,195; records management software (RMS) from Tyler Technologies with an amended first-year amount of $87,027 (to be reimbursed by the violent crime grant); purchase and acceptance of MSA G1 SCBA units from Casco Industries at a state bid price of $207,499 with 50% reimbursable from OEMA funds; and a budget amendment of $195,000 to bring grant funds into the CIP fund for fire equipment purchases.
In addition, the council accepted a contract and bonds from Slattery Construction Corporation for a lift station rehabilitation project and approved award of the State Highway 76 gas line project to NPL Mid America LLC. Most motions passed by recorded voice votes in which each council member present—Mister Dixon, Mister Buck, Mister Hughes, Mister Watson and Mayor McLeroy—voted yes.
The approvals allow staff to proceed with purchase orders and grant submittals where applicable and to begin contracting and construction work on the awarded public works projects. Several of the purchases are reimbursable under grants and will be recorded as reimbursable revenue when the city files for reimbursement.
