Presentation and rationale Jody Cascio, coordinator of learning systems, told the board the platform will pull data from multiple district systems into a single teacher‑facing dashboard. She said NextPath includes features to support Act 20 personal reading plans, progress monitoring, parent communications and analytics. "This is a one‑stop shop where all of those data pieces are, are held and can be manipulated, very easily," Cascio said in the meeting.
Cost, term and scope Administrators presented a three‑year contract with an estimated annual cost of approximately $94,000 per year (the vendor's price is per‑pupil and subject to final enrollment counts). The contract covers onboarding, integration with the district's student information system and ongoing technical support; administrators noted a small nominal onboarding fee.
Why it matters District leaders said the platform will save teacher time currently spent pulling data from multiple systems, streamline parent communications related to reading plans and permit more timely instructional decisions. District staff said the platform also contains features similar to a state dropout early‑warning system that the state no longer funds.
Board action The board voted to approve a three‑year contract with NextPath, with the first year beginning in July 2025. The motion passed by voice vote.
Data protections and next steps Administrators said cybersecurity, data storage locations and privacy protections were part of contract negotiations and the district will validate data flows and access controls during onboarding. Next steps include data mapping with Infinite Campus, teacher training and rollout scheduling.
