Operations staff explained the lift is a chairlift that takes people from the ground floor to an upper level at the CDC facility. They said the lift is a code-required accessibility device but is old and parts are no longer available, creating maintenance difficulties. The county has been struggling to maintain it and planned to procure replacement assets; staff reported the replacement units are ordered but RFPs for design-build work drew no responses.
Procurement said it will work with operations to choose how to move forward, which could include reissuing the solicitation, adjusting scope, or selecting another procurement route. No formal vote was required; staff indicated they would return with a recommended approach after consulting operations.
