He described the storage array as underpinning the software the center runs and said the borough is replacing the same class of storage array across general government units to maintain consistency.
Hanson said the appropriation request used a top‑end quote of roughly $70,000 to cover a high‑capacity unit; he added the 9‑1‑1 unit is a lower capacity model and likely will cost less, but the appropriation is written to ensure coverage of the necessary replacement.
Assemblymember Eklund asked about redundancy for records; Hanson and finance staff said the equipment has internal redundancy and that the borough maintains off‑site backups as well.
No vote was taken. The ordinance was scheduled for a public hearing on Aug. 5, 2025, and administration said the funds are already present in the relevant fee‑for‑service fund and must be appropriated for expenditure.
