Planning commission grants training credits and introduces new planner

At its Feb. 25, 2025 meeting, the Oldham County Planning Commission approved three hours of training credit for Commissioner Nassar and Mr. Klingenfuse for attending a manufactured housing summit at the county fairgrounds.

Planning staff asked the commission to approve the credits; a motion and second were made and the commission approved the credits by voice vote. Planning staff member Mr. Fisher said he “vouched for them” and noted both attendees remained for the entire event. The second on the motion was recorded in the transcript when a commissioner asked, “Mister Fauci, is that your second?” and the chair then called the voice vote. The transcript does not record a roll-call tally for the training-credit vote.

Planning staff also formally introduced Sandy Rugrodin as a new Planner I who has worked with the department for about a month. Planning staff said Rugrodin’s hire brings the planning department to full staffing with a senior planner, two Planner I positions and the planning director on staff. The staff announcement was made during the meeting’s administrative items and did not require a commission vote.

The commission briefly discussed scheduling and state-legislative timelines for future meetings and offered an optional short training session after adjournment for commissioners who wished to earn additional training hours.
