Dreaming Forward leadership program begins at PW with district support

Dr. Figueroa Douglas introduced the Dreaming Forward initiative at the Community Relations, Student Life, Safety and Wellness Committee meeting and described the program—ramework and student selection.
"The Dreaming Forward initiative —uilds self-awareness and leadership skills, helping students build and make responsible, impactful choices," Dr. Figueroa Douglas said. She told the committee the district partnered with the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU) and selected five students who already held leadership roles in school clubs to participate; counselors helped identify students who would benefit from the program.
A student participant, Luce Allen, a senior at PW, joined the presentation and was invited to share a student perspective during the meeting. The presenter said students in the program will attend a leadership forum later in the week as part of the initiative.
Ending: District staff described Dreaming Forward as an early leadership and development opportunity; no formal board action was requested at the presentation.
