Resident asks Margate commission to study rumble strips for traffic calming

Rich Zucchini, a Margate resident, used his public-comment time at the Jan. 22 meeting to ask the commission to investigate installing rumble strips as a traffic-calming measure.

“Rumble strips are inexpensive, they’re easy to install, they’re traffic calming and they don’t destroy suspensions,” Zucchini said. He asked that “one of the commissioners please take this up with the city manager and investigate putting in rumble strips in areas where we can solve a problem again without destroying suspension and without spending a lot of money.”
