The Long Beach City Council on Tuesday ratified an emergency contract for a sanitary sewer replacement on Riverside Boulevard between East Hudson Street and East Fulton Street, awarding the work to Mesito Contracting.
City Manager Dan Creighton told the council the section of pipe had “completely collapsed” and was not a candidate for relining because the line sits about 8 feet deep. Creighton said the city solicited three bids and awarded the work to “the low bidder, Mesito Contracting, at a hundred and 30 thousand 7 hundred.”
