Councilors removed consent agenda item 5, relating to solid-waste liens, for separate consideration after Representative Limon said several District 7 residents were listed and asked to contact them before the lien became permanent on property records. The council moved the item from the consent agenda to the regular agenda, and Representative Limon then made a motion to postpone the item for two weeks; Representative Fierro seconded. The motion to postpone to the Jan. 22 regular meeting passed unanimously.
During discussion staff confirmed postponing the item posed no operational issues. Representative Limon said she wanted to notify and advise affected constituents about the liens and available payment options before the city acted. No policy changes or final decisions on liens were made at the Jan. 7 meeting.
