Superintendent Dr. Darrow updated the board on the district—s Eisenhower application to the Department of Defense, saying the DoD plans to review the application on Jan. 7 and that he expects conditional approval. Dr. Darrow said he had spoken with Jay Sweatt of the Department of Defense, who described the Jan. 7 meeting as a likely date for conditional approval and that signoff should follow shortly after.
Darrow said district staff recently participated in a DoD risk-and-assessment Zoom meeting in which officials asked about the district—s finances and staffing. Administrators said they are completing required steps and are hopeful the Jan. 7 review will be the last outstanding item before formal approval. The superintendent said the board could expect a formal action item at the January board meeting if approval is received.
No vote occurred on the Eisenhower update; the item was informational. Board members expressed appreciation for the update.
