Resident raises code concerns about electrical cord, vehicles and debris on Forest Ash

A long-time Live Oak resident told council she filed a Jan. 8 code-compliance report about a heavy-duty electrical cord running across Forest Ash and raised other neighborhood appearance complaints; code enforcement had acknowledged receipt but the problems persisted, she said.
Suzanne Delgado, a Live Oak resident since 1984, used the council’s public-comment period Tuesday to report multiple neighborhood code concerns on Forest Ash and ask the council to have the items addressed.
“I submitted a code compliance report about a heavy duty electrical cord that’s been running across the street on Forest Ash between two residents,” Delgado said. She told the council she filed the report on Jan. 8 and that she had received an acknowledgment from code enforcement, but that the issue still persisted at the time she spoke.
Delgado also told council members one resident was parking an increasing portion of a vehicle on the lawn — “it started out as just one wheel and now half the car is on the lawn” — and that another residence had placed a large filing cabinet on or by a front porch. She described the items as unsightly and said she was asking the council to have the matters addressed “before the appearance of the neighborhood doesn’t slowly go down.”
The mayor asked the city manager to give Delgado his card for follow up. No formal council action on the complaints was recorded at the meeting; staff acknowledgment of the complaint was reported by Delgado.
