Summary
The Jackson County budget committee recommended adoption of Resolution 22037 to transfer funds within the 2025 general fund and approve change orders to a vendor contract for software hosting and online payment functionality.
Charlie Franklin, chair of the Jackson County Budget Committee, presented Resolution 22037, a request to transfer funds within the 2025 general fund and authorize four change orders to the county's software contract.
Scott (department staff) told the committee the request covered one additional month of hosting, an API for online printing and receipts, and public-access official receipts. "We were able to save the county over $42,000" compared with the original invoice, Scott said, and described the numbers the department requested: a transfer of $13,004.16 within the 2025 general fund and a total additional cost to the county of $33,004.16 to pay the invoice.
Legislator Sean Smith asked whether the $13,004.16 transfer reflected a budget shortfall on a particular line item; Scott replied the transfer would move funds between line items so the expense would be in the correct software line.
A motion to recommend adoption of Resolution 22037 was made and seconded. Committee members voted in favor; committee leadership announced the recommendation for adoption of 22037. No roll-call tally by member was read into the record.
