Dubin, a senior, described community service projects across district schools: Pine Road students made bookmarks, Valentine’s cards for veterans, placemats and hot‑chocolate cards for older residents, and sorted hygiene donations; Murray Avenue hosted a first‑time multicultural event called “Light Up the Night” and packaged meals with Rise Against Hunger; Lower Moreland Middle School held its annual eighth‑grade ski trip; the high school completed midterms.
On the district cell‑phone policy, Dubin said students recently held a forum and staff presented survey evidence at the high school describing reductions in screen time. She reported there are no changes to the policy for the second semester: “Students during study hall, they still have no access to their phone. And it still goes in the phone hotel during that.” Board members thanked student leaders for banners and posters displayed in the Black Box Theater and elsewhere.
Dubin invited board members to view student banners and noted ongoing student leadership activities. The board did not take action on the cell‑phone policy at the meeting.
