Rules Committee forwards condolence resolution for Mary L. Lombardo, defers resolution regarding Jasmine Tucker

The Rules Committee voted to forward a resolution honoring the life of Mary L. Lombardo, extending condolences to her family and declaring the measure an emergency. Councilmembers present offered brief remarks about Lombardo—s life and local ties; Councilman Lombardo (the councilmember who spoke at the funeral mass) described her work as a floral designer and longtime community member. The committee approved suspension of the rules with a favorable report so the resolution could move to full council.

A second resolution recognizing the death of Jasmine Tucker was read into the record but referred for time because the sponsoring councilmember (Councilman Garrett) was not present. The committee voted 5-0 on the referral motion (McKittrick, Fusco, Amobian, Connor and Davis recorded as voting aye) to place the Jasmine Tucker resolution on a future committee agenda when the sponsor can be present.
