Norfolk Public Schools hears Lunchtime Solutions update as RFP renewal approaches

The Norfolk Public Schools Board of Education at its noon meeting heard a presentation from Lunchtime Solutions about current meal service, recent menu promotions and plans tied to an upcoming request for proposals to renew the district food-service contract.

Lunchtime Solutions representatives said the company has provided meals to the district for nearly 10 years and that the board will see a formal request for proposals this year as the district decides whether to continue with the vendor or select a new food-service provider. "We've been working with them for almost 10 years now," Eric Wilson said while introducing the presenters. Nick Lukart, an area director with Lunchtime Solutions, told the board, "What you have is actually, items that are already available for the students, in Norfolk Public Schools." Tracy Shook, Lunchtime Solutions' on-site food service director, outlined recent promotions and community partnerships used to boost participation.
