Erin Nelson explained that deputies had supported enforcement in principle but noted the absence of a local ordinance that would support signage and enforcement. She described enforcement options as involving the Utah Highway Patrol or the San Juan County Sheriff's Office.
Public commenter Josh Ewing said the braking noises are audible in the middle of town and supported the ordinance. He recommended less-specific language for sign locations so signs can be placed nearer the population center rather than strictly at legal town boundaries.
No formal action was taken at the Oct. 28 hearing; staff said written comment will be accepted through Nov. 7.
