The Elkhart County Board of Commissioners on Oct. 27 approved a third amendment to the county's in‑custody medical services agreement with Wellpath LLC to extend services through the end of the year and address compensation and indemnification following Wellpath's bankruptcy proceedings.
Steve Olsen, the county attorney, told commissioners the amendment brings Wellpath 'up to date through year end and ensures appropriate base compensation and indemnification following their bankruptcy proceedings. The sheriff confirmed he was agreeable to the amendment. The board approved the amendment by unanimous voice vote.
Olsen said the county will continue working with Wellpath on an updated agreement for next year.
