Resident complains board waived second-reading; trustees send gaming-signage review to liquor commission

Trustees responded during the meeting and noted that ordinance-reading procedures are set by the village code and that resolutions and certain ordinances may be handled differently. Trustee Castatos explained he waived a second reading in a previous instance to give business owners time to review proposed fee changes and act within a tight time frame.
Separately the board took a consensus to direct the Local Liquor Control Commission to review village signage rules related to gaming advertising; the liquor commission already had the item on its meeting agenda the following day. The board asked staff and the commission to look at allowances for gaming-related signage, current compliance and possible ordinance revisions.
