Board members who interviewed her described her as notably mature for her grade and praised her application.
The board moved and seconded the appointment and approved it without recorded opposition. Members encouraged DeCouto to participate regularly; one member noted she had offered to play violin for the board at a future meeting.
The appointment was taken at the start of the meeting before the board moved to other business, including agenda approval and substantive planning items scheduled for later in the evening.
