Emily Williams, family and consumer sciences agent for the UGA Extension Office, told the board the office has held pesticide safety trainings, food-safety classes and an eight-week "Mile for Wellness" program that began in September. "We had a group compete at the Georgia 4‑H State Food Challenge ... the senior group actually won first place," Williams said, and she named the young competitors advancing to nationals.
