Clinton Utilities Board approves purchase of LED lights and decorative poles for downtown
The Clinton Utilities Board (CUB) approved buying 25 LED fixtures and 25 decorative aluminum streetlight poles—an expenditure of roughly $121,000—to replace downtown lighting, and officials said the utility continues to save money through its virtual power plant program.

Councilman Harrell reported highlights from the Clinton Utilities Board packet and relayed praise from the CUB general manager, Greg Fay, for coordination with city staff during recent downtown work. Harrell said the board approved the purchase of 25 LED lights and 25 decorative aluminum streetlight poles for about $121,000 to replace existing downtown fixtures. “We also approved the purchase of 25 LED lights and 25 decorative aluminum streetlight poles, for about 121,000 to replace the existing lights downtown,” Harrell said.
