Jacksonville Beach CRA adopts first-year performance standards required by state law

The Jacksonville Beach Community Redevelopment Agency voted Oct. 27 to adopt the performance standards and measures document required by state statute.
Taylor told the board this is the first year the agency must publish performance measures and that the document is intended to be a living resource the agency will refine over time. "This is the very first year we have to have this live and in color December 1, and then every year going forward," Taylor said. Staff emphasized the standards focus on broad, year-to-year measurable programming rather than line-by-line project details.
Board members asked questions about including infrastructure project completion percentages and whether larger capital projects should be reflected; staff said the document may expand as best practices emerge and recommended bringing substantive updates to the board during budget planning next March. The board approved the performance standards by roll call. Votes recorded in favor included Kevin Myers, Ron Waddington, Megan Edwards and Gerard Pankow.
Taylor said the document and related exhibits will be posted to the CRA website in advance of the Dec. 1 statutory deadline and that the agency will revisit the standards during next year’s budget conversations.
