Delaware County ranks Buckeye Innovation to remediate website for ADA compliance

The Delaware County Board of Commissioners on Oct. 13 approved a ranking resolution (Res. 25-822) that names Buckeye Innovation as the most advantageous proposer to conduct an Americans with Disabilities Act review and remediation of the county website.

Jane Hawes, director of communications, told commissioners the original solicitation in July did not yield adequate proposals and that 12 firms responded to the reissued request for proposals. Buckeye Innovation — the company that previously helped redesign the county’s website — submitted a compliant proposal this round and was recommended as the top ranked vendor.

Hawes said the updated pricing from respondents was “much more in line with our expectations,” and staff noted the recommended proposal reduced expected costs compared with the earlier procurement effort; a representative said the pricing was about "three times less" than the earlier submissions. Commissioners voted to approve the ranking.

The board approved the resolution by voice vote (Res. 25-822). Commissioners Jeff Benton, Barb Lewis and Gary Merrill voted in favor. Staff said they will proceed with contracting steps with the ranked proposer.
