Appling County sets called meeting to adopt 2026 budget and millage

The Appling County Commission set a called meeting to approve the 2026 budget and associated millage calculations. Commissioners discussed several date options and settled on a meeting in late September (discussion concluded with a motion to hold the meeting on Sept. 29 at 5:30 p.m.). Staff noted the final tax digest must be approved by the state and that PT-32/PT-21 rollback calculations will be submitted once the digest is final; the county cannot finalize millage rates until appeals and digest adjustments are complete.
