Board approves consent items, student representative and two PD release days; votes unanimous

The Humboldt County School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously on routine and personnel items during its Oct. 28 meeting.
In quick succession the board adopted the meeting agenda and approved the consent agenda, which included warrants, minutes, tuition agreements with neighboring districts and an LHS sports medicine field trip request. The motions carried without recorded opposition.
The board appointed Jody Anderson as the district’s student board member. A motion to approve Anderson was seconded and passed by unanimous voice vote.
The board also approved two student‑release days at French Quarter Middle School—scheduled for Nov. 14 and Dec. 12—so staff can receive live professional development and curriculum training. The school and presenters said Title I funds will cover a portion of the live trainer costs. That motion likewise passed unanimously.
All votes in these items were voice votes recorded as “aye” and no dissenting votes were entered on the public record.
