Supporters framed the club as a student civic-activity group that teaches debate, public speaking and civic participation. "Engaging in discussions, having conversations, having debates, engaging political discourse'none of that is fascistic, racist, discriminatory, or any of the things that people are trying to accuse this club of being," said Colin McGevers, identified in the meeting as president of a Turning Point chapter at Salisbury University.
